MSDE 2K Install Version 2.3

This issue occurs because the version of ODBC must be upgraded before new MSDE install will work properly.

First click here to download MDAC 2.7 or go to microsoft.com to get the download. Install the MDAC 2.7 components with all defaults, and reboot the machine.

After rebooting, then reinstall the latest service pack for that OS (NT service pack 6) (2000 service pack 2) then reboot again.

After rebooting for a second time, you should be able to install MSDE 2K with out any further errors.
